Get the latest update on the Paragard IUD product liability lawsuits. There are currently over 700 Paragard lawsuits in federal courts consolidated into a class-action MDL. About one hundred new Paragard lawsuits are being filed and added into the MDL each month and the opening round of bellwether test trials will happen next year. ABOUT PARAGARD ParaGard was developed in the 1970s. The FDA approved this IUD by prescription only in 1984. Unlike the Mirena IUD, Paragard is a non-hormonal IUD. The Paragard IUD contains copper. This metal is toxic to sperm and (almost always) prohibits fertilization, creating an inhospitable environment for embryonic implantation. These risks of Paragard include expulsion and bleeding. There is also a risk of perforation, embedment, and migration. The specific concern in the Paragard lawsuits is that there is a defect in the manufacture and design of the Paragard that causes the arm of the Paragard IUD to break. FAILURE TO WARN OF THE RISKS OF PARAGARD The crux of the Paragard class action lawsuit is women were not able to make a fully informed medical decision regarding the insertion of the Paragard IUD because did not fully disclose the risks and complications to doctors or patients. The Paragard lawsuits allege that product warnings for Paragard are vague, incomplete or otherwise wholly inadequate, both substantially (rare) and graphically, to alert prescribing physicians and patients to the true risks involving their IUD. IUD Insertion & IUD Removal (Copper Paragard, Mirena) (Part 2). Intrauterine devices, or IUDs, are extremely effective, long-acting, reversible forms of birth control. The Paragard IUD uses copper while the Mirena IUD uses the hormone progesterone. They are both inserted in a similar fashion and can be done in the office. This video shows how to insert and remove the Paragard IUD. Edit: Your provider might measure or "sound" the length of your cervix and uterus first. They will then adjust the little blue marker on the straw to where the opening of your cervix is so they know the appropriate distance to insert. If you think you'll need additional pain management, speak to your doctor before your visit. 🏷 TAG someone who needs to see this! ✅ Thank you for supporting my channel. Thousands of women allege that the ParaGard birth control device caused significant injuries from migration, breakage and perforation. Call a birth control lawyer to discuss your option for a ParaGard Lawsuit. Since the 1980s, the ParaGard IUD has been available to women as a long-term birth control method. However, ParaGard has come under fire for its potential to migrate, break, perforate or cause other serious injuries that threaten the lives of the thousands of women who use it as their primary birth control. Women have begun filing ParaGard lawsuits for the injuries they’ve suffered from the negligence of the drug’s manufacturers. A ParaGard lawyer can help you figure out your next steps if the copper IUD caused your injuries. Why is there a Copper IUD Lawsuit? Lawsuits against ParaGard allege that the product’s manufacturer, Teva Pharmaceuticals, created a dangerous medication and failed to instruct doctors on how to remove the implant without breakage. Further, women hurt by the product were not properly warned about the potential implant breakage. Suits against ParaGard manufacturers allege that warnings for ParaGard were “vague, incomplete or otherwise whole inadequate” when it came to addressing the actual risks associated with the implant. ParaGard is not the first long-term birth control making headlines for injuring women. Two Bayer contraception products, Essure and Mirena also led to similar injuries and requiring surgery for removal. What are the common ParaGard injuries? Women with the ParaGard T380A may have suffered significant damage from the birth control medication. In lawsuits against Teva Pharmaceuticals, hundreds of women allege that the defective contraceptive medication caused the following IUD damages: IUD breaks upon removal IUD expulsion or falls out of the uterus Migration to other parts of the body Ectopic pregnancy Organ damage Allergic reactions Infections Severe inflammation IUD is stuck in the uterus and requires surgery to remove Hysterectomy Perforation of the uterine wall or cervix Scarring and damage to other organs In more severe cases, patients prescribed ParaGard IUDs have died from the above injuries. ParaGard Lawsuits Surgeries that may qualify you for a ParaGard Lawsuit include the following: Hysterectomy Caesarian section Other exploratory surgeries There are several other injuries associated with ParaGard that can lead to a successful claim against the company. For example, if you suffered any of the following, you should speak with a lawyer about filing a ParaGard lawsuit: Unplanned pregnancy and increased risk of ectopic pregnancy Punctured uterus or Fallopian tubes Stomach and pelvis migration Abnormal bleeding Stomach and Pelvis migration Suffering from ParaGard complications can lead to devastating and life-altering consequences. You may qualify for filing a lawsuit against ParaGard manufacturers and receive the compensation you deserve for your injuries. Call The Carlson Law Firm to speak with an experienced ParaGard Lawyer about your legal options. What are ParaGard lawsuit qualifications? The Carlson Law Firm is accepting clients who have suffered the following ParaGard injuries: Paragard breaks at the arms upon removal; or Paragard breaks apart on its own prior to removal and requires surgery to remove. Commonly, patients will need a hysteroscopy or hysterectomy to remove fragments of the implant. What are the signs that my ParaGard IUD has moved? Women filing lawsuits because they have experienced significant injuries after ParaGard insertions. It is recommended that you check your IUD each month after you get your period. Symptoms you may experience if your ParaGard birth control has moved include: Bleeding between periods Heavy vaginal bleeding Unusual cramping beyond normal periods Pain or soreness in your lower abdomen Unusual vaginal discharge What should I expect when I contact a ParaGard Lawyer? The lawyers at The Carlson Law Firm will begin assisting you with your individual lawsuit by determining the extent of your injuries. Our compassionate ParaGard lawyers understand the pain you are experiencing is the result of Teva Pharmaceuticals’ failure to properly warn patients about its dangerous drug. Our attorneys offer free consultations and will be with you every step of the way. A successful ParaGard Lawsuit will require the experience of a skilled Mass Torts attorney backed by a firm with the in-house resources to prove your case. IUD stands for intrauterine device. It is a contraceptive method that is put inside your uterus. A non-hormonal IUD is a small, copper-coated, T-shaped piece of flexible plastic. This is why it is sometimes called a copper T. The hormone-free device uses copper to prevent pregnancy. Sperm don't like copper. It changes the way sperm move so they can't get to the egg. If the sperm cannot reach the egg, pregnancy does not occur. #IUD #Pregnancy #Pregancytips #IUDtypes #nonhormonalIUD

ST. LOUIS — Health is often top of mind in the first month of the year. Andy Crouppen, from Brown & Crouppen, wants to make sure women are aware of a potential threat to their reproductive health and the legal actions they can take. Paragard seems like a good option for women needing or wanting an IUD. It is FDA approved, but doctors and patients have discovered a pretty concerning issue when Paragard is removed. Andy explains the great thing about Paragard is that of the 5 IUDs on the market, it is the only one that is hormone free. However, Andy goes on to say that sometimes during removal one or both arms of the IUD can break off. The doctor is then not always able to retrieve it. This is very problematic and could cause more problems later on. Andy goes on to say that sometimes these issues from the broken IUD have to be resolved with surgery, and even after it is out there could be remaining damage. If you already have a Paragard IUD and you encounter a problem, there is litigation surrounding this and Andy would recommend calling a lawyer to find out what your options are. Andy reminds women that this is rare and it doesn’t happen all the time, but it is something to consider when talking to your doctor about getting an IUD. Click the link for the full story: 🤍

Personal Injury Attorney Neil Shouse describes the important factors to know about Paragard IUD contraceptive devices, made by Teva Pharmaceuticals, which has caused horrific complications for women who have needed to get the device removed. More info at 🤍 or call (877) 504-7750 for a free consultation. An intrauterine device, known as an IUD for short, is an implant that is placed on a woman's uterine wall in order to prevent pregnancy. The Paragard IUD is made by Teva Pharmaceuticals has had a history of migrating to different parts of a woman's reproductive organs where it can pierce organs and tissue, causing pain and bleeding. Additionally, when doctors try to remove the device, it has been known to break apart into smaller more dangerous pieces, that can cause further damage. The broken fragments can embed themselves in the patient's uterus, and the only solution is an invasive surgery that often involves a complete hysterectomy. Victims of the Paragard IUD device suffer from horrible pain, bleeding, infections, organ damage, and sometimes infertility. Victims of the Paragard IUD device can recover damages in a lawsuit, including compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. If you or a loved one has had a Paragard IUD device installed and suffered pain, surgical removal, or other complications, we invite you to contact us at Shouse Law Group. We can provide a free consultation in office or by phone. We have local offices across the United States in cities such as Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Oakland, Orange County California, Reno, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle and many other locations.

Paragard IUD is a popular contraceptive device that thousands of women had implanted in their uterus. Since this video was made, there are now 957 Paragard lawsuits filed in the MDL class action (as of March 16, 2022). LATEST PARAGARD LAWSUIT UPDATE March 2022 Update: The March status conference in the Paragard MDL is being held today (March 22, 2022) before Judge Leigh Martin May. Judge May will discuss various housekeeping issues including the number of pending Paragard IUD cases and the status of responses to the plaintiffs’ initial document requests. PARAGARD LAWSUIT BACKGROUND A design defect causes many Paragard IUD devices to have dangerously fracture inside the body during the process of removal. The flexible plastic arms at the base of the Paragard appear to get brittle and hard after years inside the body. As a result, the arms do not flex upward like they are supposed to when doctors attempt to remove the IUD. When this happens, the plastic arms of the Paragard IUD often fracture and break off into fragments inside the woman’s body. Our firm is currently accepting new Paragard IUD fracture cases. If you suffered injuries when your Paragard IUD device fractured during removal, call our office today at 800-553-8082. 🤍
